Rabat – Morocco and French region of Normandy have confirmed their commitment to promoting bilateral cooperation in energy transfer and sustainable development.
During a high -ranking meeting in Rabat, Leila Benali, Moroccan Energy Minister and Sustainable Development, welcomed a delegation, that of Hervé Morin, President of the Normandy region joint efforts in renewable energies, green hydrogen and scientific cooperation.
The discussions focused on improving partnerships in strategic sectors, including energy efficiency, research in environmentally friendly hydrogen technologies and capacity structure in civil energy.
Both sides also examined the cooperation in Smart Energy Grid Management, a key area to optimize electricity distribution and electricity consumption.
In addition to energy -related topics, the meeting dealt with opportunities for cooperation in university formation and scientific research, especially in the areas of engineering and nuclear sciences.
In view of the management of Normandy in these areas within FranceOfficials emphasized the potential to strengthen relationships between Moroccan and French universities and research institutions.
Minister Benali confirmed the commitment of Morocco for the energy transfer and raised the nation’s strategy under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
She remembered the strategic partnership in between Morocco and France in the presence of King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron, who serves as a cornerstone for cooperation in innovations for green hydrogen and clean technology.
Hervé Morin for his part praised Morocco’s role as a leading model for the energy transfer in Africa and in the Mediterranean region. He emphasized the know -how of Normandy in civil nuclear energy, green hydrogen and engineering training and positioned it as an ideal partner for Moroccan institutions.
The meeting also included the participation of the French ambassador to Morocco and high -ranking representatives of French institutions that specialize in energy research, technological innovation and economic cooperation. Civil servants from the French embassy in Rabat took part in the discussions and represented academic and decentralized cooperation sectors.
This commitment is a step forward in consolidating the cooperation between Morocco-France and strengthens the common vision of both countries for sustainable energy development and the resistance of the climate.
