Rabat-Zohour Alaoui, Morocco Ambassador in Germany, spoke in a gala dinner organized by the Agadir Sous-Massa Regional Tourism Council (CRT) in Berlin highly about the relationship between the two countries.
The event takes place on the heels of the International Tourism Fair of Berlin (ITB), which began on March 4 and was completed today.
Alaoui spoke about tourism between Morocco and Germany as an essential part of their excellent relationship and described him as a “lever”, which can help deepen the friendship and reach the highest ambitions of the federal states.

Alaoui continued to comment that the participation of Morocco in ITB Berlin in 2025 shows the increasing interest of the country in the German tourism market, which is already shaped by a 40% influx of German tourists in Morocco in 2019.
The diplomat also revealed the ambitious goal of Morocco, as part of the strategy of strengthening the country as a tourist destination, to reach a million German tourists in 2025.
This is particularly important because the tourism sector has become an essential driver for the economy of the Morocco and in 2024 7.2% of gross domestic product.
The different factors that contribute to the growth of the sector include the diplomat the geostrategic position in Morocco, its economic performance, robust development, political stability and the culture of openness and tolerance.
All are reinforced by concrete state measures and the participation of the stakeholders in the tourism sector in accordance with King Mohammed VI’s guidelines.
Several renowned Moroccan personalities and tourism officers took part in the gala, including General Director of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (OnMT); Achraf Fayda, President of Agadir Souss-Massa CR; Salah-Eddine Benhamman, General Director of the Moroccan Society of Tourist Engineering (SMIT); Imad Barrakad and the President of the National Tourism Confederation (CNT); Hamid Bentahar among other things.
ITB Berlin 2025 gathered tourism experts from over 170 countries, including Morocco, who presented their tourism offer on an impressive 730 square meter pavilion.
