Rabat – Authorities in the Kiko community near Fez have initiated a comprehensive examination, according to reports on sexual abuse with several schoolgirls. The case shocked the community and Moroccans across the country demand justice for the victims.

According to converting reports, the abuse occurred in two different schools in the Kiko region. The investigation showed that a network of perpetrators, including people who were identified as bouncers, farmers and hairdressers, were responsible for the use of the minor girls.
The incident was illustrated after the victim’s family had filed a complaint after attempted suicide and threatening a compromise video. Since then, the authorities have arrested several suspects and question them, whereby further arrests are expected in the course of the investigation.
Human rights groups demanded immediate legal actions and psychological support from the victims. In addition, several Moroccans went to social media to express their shock about the incident and demanded urgent measures to protect and support the victims and their families.
Others demanded stricter punishments for the perpetrators to prevent the recurrence of such crimes. Chouki warned that abuse has left a deep psychological effects on the community and the ministry asked to ensure that the schoolgirls concerned receive immediate legal and psychological support.
