More than a dozen dead as Cyclone Chido devastates Mayotte, France

At least 14 people were killed in the French overseas territory of Mayotte after Cyclone Chido ripped through the Indian Ocean island on its way to East Africa, a security source told AFP on Sunday. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said it would take several days to know the full death toll, which he warned was likely to be “high.”
