On the high instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Leader and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, met on Monday at the headquarters of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces FAR in Rabat, with Army General Zéphirin Mamadou, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and Commander of the Bangui Autonomous Defense Zone from the Central African Republic visited from 17 to January 23, at the head of a large military delegation, the Kingdom of Morocco.
The two officials discussed the various aspects of bilateral military cooperation, particularly related to training and exchange of visits. They also welcomed the solidity of cooperative relations between the Royal Armed Forces and the Central African Armed Forces, said a press release from the FAR General Staff.
On this occasion, the Chief of Staff of the Central African Army thanked His Majesty the King for the support of the Central African Armed Forces and praised the actions of the Moroccan contingent within the framework of the stabilization mission and its crucial role within MINUSCA.
For his part, the Prime Minister’s Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration, Mr. Abdeltif Loudyi, received Army General Zéphirin Mamadou. The two officials expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and examined the prospects for expanding these relations to other areas of common interest.
Since 2014, the FAR has been involved in peacekeeping in the Central African Republic as part of MINUSCA with a contingent of 750 soldiers.
