Memory of Mohammad Mansour, Housam Shabat

Memory of Mohammad Mansour, Housam Shabat

Rabat – In a scene that has repeated far too often since October 7, Israel led two separate strikes that are addressed against media staff, and killed today’s journalists from Palestine Mohammad Mansour and Al Jazera journalist Housam Shabat.

Israel deliberately met Mohammad Mansour in his house in Khan Yunis and, according to Al Jazera, killed him with his wife and child.

Palestine today published an explanation in which he was informed about Mansour’s death and pointed out that this was not the first time that Israel was aiming for a media worker.

Al Jazeera Tarq Abu Azzoum reported that Shabat’s death of Deir El-Balah in the center of Gaza said that he had previously been wounded in an earlier Israeli attack, but insisted on reporting.

“The Israeli military aimed at his vehicle” without “previously warning,” said Abu Azzoum.

“If you read this, it means that I was killed”

Houssam Shabat, who had already survived a “Doppel -Tap” attack in November, had already sanded and left his last words to his team to share on social media. “If you read this, this means that I have been killed by the Israeli occupation forces – most likely targeted,” he predicted in a dark message.

Shabat added that he was only 21 years old when Israel’s genocide began in Gaza, just a “student with dreams like everyone else”.

In an explanation that he made in August, Shabbat referred to the injustice that he and the Palestinian people sounded: “These days I should take the stage and complete the college. Instead, I choose bags from upset, dismembered bodies of women and children.”

Shabat was once one of the last journalists who remained in the north of Gaza during the entire siege, which many Palestinians were starving. Shabat refused to leave his people and documented the Israeli horrors, “minute after minute decided to show the world the truth that they tried to bury them,” added Shabat.

In October 2024, more people were introduced to Shabat when Israel put him on a list with other Palestinian journalists and accused them of being connected to the groups “Hamas and Islamic jihad terrorists”. This is how you create an excuse for your killing.

In his explanation in August, Shabat said that he was no longer afraid that he fears a “life without dignity” and despite the attempts of Israel to dehuman him and his people, he retained his dignity and journalistic integrity until the last moment.

“With God I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now I’m finally alone – something I didn’t know in the past 18 months,” said Shabat’s last statement before his death.

Even in death, Shabat asked people not to stop talking about Gaza Strip, not to look away from the horrors, have reported Palestinian journalists and civilians, and continue to fight and tell the stories of the Palestinians until their homeland is free.

The Gaza’s government media office (GMO) published a statement yesterday, in which it was announced that Shabat and Mansours are now bringing murders of the IOF to 208 Palestinians. GVO held Israel and the United States as well as “the countries involved in the genocide such as the United Kingdom, Germany and France, which are fully responsible for the inspection of this hideous crime”.

When asked about the deliberate murder of the Palestinian two journalists, a stone face Tammy Bruce, spokesman for the US State Department, Hamas predicted and “their decisions to draw this region into a level of suffering was unbearable.”

At the beginning of February, the committee to protect journalists (CPJ) reported in early February that his preliminary investigation showed that 173 journalists and media workers had been killed by the IOF in Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon since October 7, which was the most fatal period for journalists in 1992.
