A medical transport jet with a children’s patient and five adults plunged into a quarter in Philadelphia shortly after the start on Friday evening and exploded in a fireball that devoured several houses.
Jet Rescue Air Ambulance said that the patient and another passenger were on board with four crew members.
“We cannot confirm survivors,” said the company in a statement. “Our immediate concern is the family of the patient, our staff, their families and other victims who may have been violated on site.”
The mayor of Philadelphia, Cherelle Parker, said on Wednesday evening at a press conference that information about deaths was not immediately known, but several houses and vehicles had been damaged.
“This is still an active scene that is being examined,” she said.
