Mastercard study: 74% of Moroccan women want to take companies


A Mastercard study published on the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2025 shows that 74% of Moroccan women want to create their own business.

However, only 27% for entrepreneurs at the moment, and 64% of thousand -year -old women have not yet carried out their projects.

The study illuminates a strong entrepreneurial wish, whereby 82% of women’s managers will be offering their income in the next 5 years.

The most popular sectors for entrepreneurs in Morocco are online sales (23%), education, especially tutoring (14%) and cosmetics (14%).

However, the challenges remain, especially in the lack of financial resources specified by 32% of women, and the lack of knowledge of the creation of companies that have been mentioned by 41%.

To make their success easier, women need more financing solutions (38%), training courses in commercial skills (34%) and technological support (25%).

In addition, Mastercard undertakes to support them by proposing suitable financial solutions, training courses and local partnerships after they have helped more than 50 million small companies, including 37 million by women since 2020.
