Marrakesh-Safi: Almost 63,000 artisans are registered with the RNA
The Marrakesh-Safi region had 62,923 artisans registered in the National Crafts Register (RNA) at the end of December 2024, ranking second in the country after Casablanca-Settat.
Marrakech ranks first with 28,191 registered people, both regionally and nationally. The region’s handicraft sector generates sales of DH7.4 billion, or 7% of the national total, and employs 74,652 people, accounting for 5% of national employment.
Architectural crafts, traditional clothing and woodworking are the main specialties.
After the Al Haouz earthquake, 1,084 artisans received assistance to rebuild their workshops and a program was launched to rehabilitate Marrakesh’s artisanal infrastructure with an investment of DH94 million.
