Marrakech-in Gitex Africa 2025, who started today, clean tech giants with the shoulders with freshly sighted founders and every handshake could lead to a startup, a voice that the red city proudly striked and proudly collected.
Mountasir Bullal, deputy director of the Regional Tourcil Marrakechs-Safi, told Morocco World News: “The Regional Tourism Council is an organization that brings together the private sector, the public sector and elected officers to promote the goal of Marrakech and its region.”
And promote, you did it. From the flashing lights from Gitex cabins to conversations with digital nomads and data centers, Marrakech was not just a backdrop – it was a statement.
“CRT Marrakech also manages the brand, which is the Marrakech region, a well -known platform both nationally and internationally, with over 200,000 visitors per month,” explained Boullal.
“In fact, it is one of the best tourist information platforms in the country.”
When he was asked about Gitex Africa, he didn’t hesitate.
“Gitex Africa is an unimaginable event due to its size,” he said.
“Marrakech organizes many events, but a trade fair, which brings together supply and demand in an industry such as Tech, which brings investors and young talents together – is a great opportunity for our region for several reasons.”
He listed her with the clarity of someone who knows what he’s here for.
“Firstly, it offers young people from this region the opportunity to join large groups in the areas of technology and innovation.”
He added that it is also an opportunity for her as a tourism goal and guide on the African continent to position Marrakech as a business tourism goal at continental and even international level.
“Thirdly, the fact that this ecosystem comes together in Marrakech will bring a lot of animation into the economic structure and help to develop entrepreneurship and the technologies of tomorrow.”
They could feel the pride when he spoke of his city – and the plan for his future.
“Marrakech is already positioning itself as a goal for digital nomads – thanks to its geographical location,” he added.
“Within three hours after the plane, we are well connected with the European capitals, the African continent, the Middle East, the United States and North America. So Marrakech has a geographical position that offers the digital nomads several advantages.”
Then he broke down – the geographical position and young talents in technology, artificial intelligence and all areas.
“So every startup that is set up in Marrakech will have several ways to find the talent that is needed,” he said.
And of course nobody can talk about Marrakech without talking about joy.
“At the same time, Marrakech – the state of Lbahja and celebration – can offer these startups and investors a place for leisure, a unique international balance between work and enjoyment.”
But this was not just a celebration of what Marrakech is – it was also about what it would be.
“With CRT Marrakech and through the visit to the visit of the visit, we started an innovative project with the Marrakechs-Safi region, the city of Marrakech, the municipality of Mechouar-Kasbah and the CNT,” he said.
The idea is to bring several travel experiences with cooperatives from the provinces – namely Chichaoua, Rhamna, Kalaat Saghna, Youssoufia, Safi, Essaouira and others – to create, promote and distribute them to international experiences.
You may be wondering – why this project?
It is both innovative and very relevant because it will move part of the tourist flow towards the provinces and other areas, not just Marrakech, towards the provinces and other areas.
It will also create jobs and income for local communities, women and young people.
And the ambition? Nothing less poetic.
“We have the ambition to create 1001 experiences by 2029 – and of course to create jobs that enable tomorrow’s tourists not only to visit websites and monuments, but also to experience our tangible and intangible legacy in the provinces and with locals.”
So when the conversation turned to the global amount of entrepreneurs, travelers and investors who were working on Gitex Africa, Boullal’s invitation was simple:
“So we take this opportunity to say to all start -ups, investors and young people from all over the world: to Marrakech. Welcome to Marrakech, the country of celebration, Lbahja, joy and constant renewal.”
