On Monday, traffic safety was initiated in Marrakech to raise awareness and to promote compliance with the traffic rules. A road to traffic safety was installed in Moulay El Hassan Park and offers various information activities for motorcyclists, students and institutional representatives.
A delegation that consisted of ministers and international civil servants presented the “Safe Moto” initiative, which comprises the distribution of 50,000 approved helmets, including 20,000 for the Marrakech Safi region. Education initiatives were also carried out, such as the creation of street education clubs in schools and workshops for children.
For motorcyclists and specialists, consciousness campaigns were carried out, including a medical examination of the suitability for driving and demonstrations about the importance of wearing the seat belt.
These operations take place before the 4th Worldwide Ministerial Conference for Street Security, which is planned for February 18 to 20.
