The marathon, which takes place in the beautiful red city of Marrakech, has attracted attention for its picturesque route, which leads the participants through the historic streets, palm groves and on breathtaking landmarks of the city.
The Marrakech marathon is now among the most wanted marathons in the world thanks to its steady increase in interest.
The organizers of the marathon say That “the Edenische city of Marrakech offers an extraordinary environment, an often mild climate in January and a wonderful racetrack that is viewed in the fastest international marathons, along the streets of palm trees, orange trees and olive trees, but also to the walls of the city.”
The report analyzed the Google Search Trends for over 100 races worldwide and found that interest in competitive running was increasing. The Beijing Marathon secured the top position with an amazing increase in search plants by 386%, followed by the Shanghai Marathon (126%) and the Nagoya Women’s Marathon in Japan (104%).
In addition to the Marrakech marathon, several other races around the world have recorded a popularity. The Seville Marathon and Malaga Marathon in Spain both recorded an increase in interest by 78%, while the Riad marathon in Saudi Arabia followed closely with the same percentage increase. European races such as the marathon in Rome and Madrid Marathon have also achieved the top ranking.
In addition to traditional marathons, Ultramarathons have a significant increase in interest, and the search for “Ultramarathon near me” rose by 66%compared to the previous year. The Namib race in Namibia was the most trendy ultramarathon with an increase in search plants by 186%. The Suffolk Coastal Path 50k in Great Britain and the Barkley marathons in the USA have also made it to the top three.
