The right -wing extremist politician Marine Le Pen owes in a misappropriation, a French court confirmed this morning.
French outlet RTL has announced Le Pen will be faced in prison for two years and two years in the house arrest and a ban on applying for future presidential elections.
France24 used to said Le Pen and 24 other officials in their party, national rally, are suspended.
They supposedly used money for parliamentary helpers from the European Union to pay employees who worked for the party between 2004 and 2016.
This violates the regulations of the European Union.
Le Pen denied the claims against them and other members of the party
The French news agency said Le Pen had contested misconduct during the entire process and claimed that it did not commit the “slightest irregularity, the slightest illegal step”.
In the court hearings, however, showed that the EU Fund’s money was used to pay Le Pens bodyguards.
The public prosecutor had called for a two -year prison sentence for Le Pen in addition to five years of inadmissibility for presidential elections.
Le Pen succeeded her father Jean-Marie Le Pen as the leader of the right-wing extremist National Rally Party in 2011. She was the leaders of the party until 2021.
She ran as a candidate for the Presidential Elections 2022. She was also a candidate in 2012 and 2017.
