Shortly after the diva’s annual holiday concerts come to an end, news breaks that the singer has achieved massive success on the Billboard charts – and if that continues, there’s a good chance she’ll set another record in the coming year.

Mariah Carey’s hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” repeats its feat and breaks a record
In what has become the norm in recent history, Carey is currently at the top of the Billboard charts with “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” her 19th No. 1 hit.
The iconic holiday song, first released in November 1994 as the lead single from Carey’s “Merry Christmas” album, is now the singer’s longest-running No. 1 at 17 weeks, surpassing her previous achievement with “One Sweet Day.” Boyz from 1995 II men by a week.
The singer that is in Aspen for the Christmas season, shared a few celebratory words on social media on Monday.
“This is amazing,” she said of the headline-making moment on X/Twitter.
“I will never take this for granted. Merry early Christmas!”

Carey’s song has held this position for the past three weeks, achieving similar success in 2019 and 2021. In 2022, the song held the number one spot for a total of four weeks.
Accordingly billboardthe annual success is attributed to the song’s continued popularity on streaming music apps.

Coincidentally, Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” could help the Grammy winner reclaim an amazing title she’s held for nearly three decades.
Currently, breakout country star Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” shares the title of longest No. 1 Billboard track of all time with Lil Nas Hot 100 dominates weeks in 2024 and 2019, respectively.
Previously, Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” was the record holder with its 16-week run, holding the title for 23 years.
If Carey lands at No. 1 twice more in the coming weeks – which she has a good chance of doing – she would ultimately take the award back. She would only need one more to claim victory.

However, if she doesn’t, there’s a good chance she could do so during the 2025 holiday season.

Carey recently celebrated the song’s 30th anniversary
While she may describe herself as “forever 16,” Carey spoke to The about the longevity of her Christmas hit New York Times in November – the same month a 30th anniversary remaster of their “Merry Christmas” album was released.
“It’s really rewarding,” the singer said of people’s appreciation for the song, “and I’m just thankful and grateful for it and for all the people who come up to me and say, ‘I love your music’ or ‘I.’ listen’.” “to your Christmas music in July” – that started to develop. I’ve always wanted to do this for my life and now we can do it.”
As the singer noted in her best-selling memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” her love of the happy holidays — which eventually led to her co-writing the song with her colleague Walter Afanasieff — grew out of less positive memories of holidays with her Family.
“I set out to create my own little magical, joyful Christmas world,” she wrote. “I focused on all the things my mother had trouble creating; All I needed was a shower of glitter and a full church choir to support me.”

You won’t believe how many versions of Carey’s Christmas video there are
As further proof of the catchy tune’s longevity, Carey has released not one or two, but six official music videos for “All I Want For Christmas Is You” since 1994.
First of all, the original edit, released this year. Then came a unique 1960s recording made for the popular British music show Top of The Pops.
This was followed by an animated version of the So So Def remix of the song in 1995, featuring rappers Jermaine Dupri and Lil Bow Wow.
Fast forward to 2010, and we arrive at Carey’s “SuperFestive!” Version of the song featuring pop star Justin Bieber.
Next up, we have the special edition “Make My Wish Come True Edition,” an updated version from 2019 that features appearances by Moroccan and Monroe Carey, the singer’s two children.
And then there’s the latest – an unreleased footage version released to mark the 25th anniversary of Merry Christmas.
There are also versions for fans and celebrities – but these are mostly unofficial (although approved by Carey’s team). All versions can be found on YouTube.

Carey’s other Christmas songs are just as good, if not better
To date, Carey has released two other Christmas albums – the 1994 sequel to “Merry Christmas” titled “Merry Christmas II You” and a soundtrack to her Apple TV special “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Time.”
