Marcus Rashford was withdrawn in Aston Villa, borrowing in Aston Villa von Liverpool, boss Arne Slot on Wednesday.
Rashford impressed from the bank at the weekend when Villa pulled with Ipswich and has an impressive record against Liverpool.
The England striker scored five goals in eight home games of the Premier League against Liverpool for Manchester United – only Sergio Agüero (7), Thierry Henry (6) and Jamie Vardy (6) managed more homes against the Reds.
Slot says he expects Rashford to be borrowed his old form in the villa after being impressed last August during a preliminary season against United.
He said: “When I face him in real life for the first time, the US tour was in the pre-season and I was impressed. I was really impressed how fast he is, how he has a nice height and is well with the ball, so I think he is a very good player.
“I hope for him that he will show this in the villa.
“Of course I don’t hope that he will do this tomorrow, but I would be completely surprised if a player will not show it to his quality because in my opinion he is a very good player.”
Rashford has been without a goal since the beginning of December. Liverpool would be 10 points clear with a win in Villa Park at the head of the Premier League.
