Man arrested for hitting several people with a car in Casablanca
According to a security source, the suspect was identified as a 31-year-old man with a criminal record who has a nationwide investigation warrant for his connection to two drug and psychotropic drug trafficking cases.
The initial investigation, carried out in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), revealed that the suspect got into an altercation with employees of a fast food restaurant in Ain Sebaa because the suspect blocked traffic on the access road. The suspect then rammed the employees with a rental car, injuring four of them and causing damage to the company’s window.
Through a subsequent investigation, the police identified the suspect in another vehicle after he abandoned the rental car used for the crimes, explained the same source, adding that at the time of his arrest the suspect was in possession of 44 cans of “Poufa” and Chira pieces and a sum of money that allegedly comes from the drug and psychotropic drug trade.
The suspect was taken into police custody as part of a judicial investigation monitored by the relevant public prosecutor’s office to uncover the details of this case, the security source concluded.
