David Haddad, who has served as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment President for 12 years, is leaving the company. He will leave in April.
During his time at the publisher, WBIE enjoyed some major success with franchises such as Batman, Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat. However, in recent years the publisher has struggled with mistakes like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
“David has thoughtfully and intentionally selected a time when our release schedule is lighter in order to minimize disruption to our ongoing projects and strategic plans and to smoothly prepare this team for its next titular title,” Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming and CEO and President of Games and President JB Perrette said in a message to employees reported by diversity.
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for its successor. Haddad had a long run at Warner Bros. and transitions after such steady leadership can prove difficult. His remaining time at the publisher through April should help make that transition smoother.
“I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together at Warner Bros. Games during my time with the company,” noted Haddad. “It has been an absolute pleasure building and building our iconic gaming franchises and I will continue to be an enthusiastic supporter of this talented team’s future endeavors. I look forward to working on the next chapter of my career and will always be grateful for my time with Warner Bros. Games. “
