LG brings a lamp that doubles as a small garden at CES 2025. The “indoor gardening tool” is designed for apartment dwellers or anyone whose garden is otherwise unable to enjoy the benefits of home-grown produce.
According to LG, the lamp with a circular lampshade emits LEDs at five different intensities during the day to the plants you want to grow. At night, the lights then shine upwards to create a cozy lighting atmosphere in any room where you place the lamp. If you prefer something more compact and armchair height, LG also offers a side table-sized version.
The taller floor lamp can accommodate up to 20 plants at a time, according to LG, and the entire setup is height-adjustable so you can accommodate larger leafy greens or small herbs and flowers. But the real beauty of LG’s design is that you don’t have to worry about watering. There is a 1.5 gallon tank built into the base of the lamp that can distribute the right amount of liquid for whatever you have planted. Both lights also connect to LG’s ThinQ app, allowing you to adjust lighting and watering schedules remotely.
LG introduced its previous version of an indoor gardening device, the LG Tiiunat CES 2022. This larger, refrigerator-shaped device could also grow and water plants automatically, but was far less aesthetically pleasing than the company’s new lamp. With all the features it has on board, the new lamp from LG really does justice a Sonos speaker removed from the ultimate living room device. At least until tech companies find another use for lamps.
There is no release date or official price for LG’s new indoor gardening tool. However, the company is expected to reveal more details once CES 2025 officially begins.
