Legal and judicial areas: Morocco and France undertake to strengthen their cooperation


Morocco and France have decided to intensify their legal and judicial cooperation during a meeting in Rabat, in which the ministers of the judiciary, Abdellatif Ouahbi and Gérald Darmanin, signed a joint explanation. This obligation is part of an action plan that was signed on May 31, 2024 and emphasizes priorities such as the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

The ministers emphasized the importance of this cooperation, which refers to the security and development of the two countries. They also agreed to modernize the judicial system, to guarantee the continuous training of experts and to exchange expertise.

“We have also examined the means that are able to facilitate the daily life of Moroccans in France, especially on questions of personal status and family rights,” said Abdellatif Ouahbi.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the progress achieved, while Darmanin recognized the role of the Moroccan judges in the fight against terrorism.

In addition, this explanation will enable us to re -evaluate certain agreements that aim to facilitate the life of Moroccans in France and to improve the working conditions of the officials of the two ministries.
