Accordingly News 5 ClevelandOn Christmas Eve, Meuti was found dead in front of Warrensville Care & Rehabilitation Center Avenue around 7:30 a.m. According to Warrensville Heights police, Meuti was last seen by facility staff on December 23 at 8:40 p.m.

The nurse who last saw Meuti reportedly told police that the 84-year-old “seemed normal and was talking while sitting in her wheelchair.”

A second one was then reportedly assigned to Meuti. However, around 9:30 p.m., the nurse discovered that the 84-year-old was “not in her room.”

According to the outlet, the second nurse reportedly assumed that Meuti had visited her brother. However, the facility’s visitor log contained no record of Meuti’s brother picking her up. In addition, the second nurse is said to have not informed colleagues about the 84-year-old’s absence.

At around 12:30 p.m. the nurse is said to have attacked Meuti’s brother several times. However, he didn’t answer.

“…she is a new nurse…and was unsure what to do afterward,” the police report states News 5 Cleveland.

At around 6:30 a.m., the nurse finally informed a colleague about Meuti’s disappearance. A “Code Purple” was then issued, a search of the building was carried out and the police were informed. When an officer arrived at 7:30 a.m., nurses reportedly discovered Meuti outside the facility, “lying on his back.”

According to the Cuyahoga County Coroner, the 84-year-old’s cause of death was listed as “environmental exposure with hypothermia.” Police are reportedly investigating Meuti’s death and how she came to leave the facility despite needing help walking.
