Laâyoune prison denies allegations of ill-treatment of a minor prisoner

The administration of the local prison of Laâyoune has denied allegations of ill-treatment made by the mother of a minor inmate in a video posted on social networks.
She claims an investigation concluded there was no evidence of violence allegedly used by an officer.

As for the prisoner’s injuries, they were the result of repeated self-mutilation, particularly when he hit his head against the walls. On January 14, 2025, he was hospitalized and examined by a psychiatrist who prescribed treatment, but the young man allegedly refused to comply.
