Rabat – King Mohammed VI expanded the family of the iconic Moroccan artist Naima Samih, who died on Saturday.
In his message the king said Naima Samih’s Death is “a loss not only for her family, but also for the national artistic scene that has lost one of his brightest stars, who has been shining in the field of authentic Arab songs for decades thanks to her melodious voice, her unmistakable tone and her increased artistic sense.”
For the monarch, Samih is busy on the repertoire of Moroccan songs and in memory of their national and larger Arabic audience.
The monarch extended his condolences and said that he shared the feelings of the family’s family in this “difficult attempt”, but also added that “divine will cannot be stopped”. He remembered the great advantages of the legendary artist and her noble qualities as well as her sincere patriotism.
The legendary singer died yesterday morning at the age of 71. Naima Samih was born in Casablanca and left a permanent heritage for current and future generations.
Some of her renowned songs include “Jitek Li Babek”.Yak a Janhi“Ghab Lehlal”, among other things, who were listed by musicians in Morocco and beyond.
Many Moroccans, celebrities or not, went to social media to mourn the artist.
The Fassic composer and artist Nouamane Lahlou, who took part in her funeral, found that the death of the singer is a great loss for Moroccans and beyond.
Latifa Raafat, one of the most famous singers in Morocco, also expanded her condolences and described Samih as a “Lady of Maroccan Music” that will never be forgotten.
