Doha-king Mohammed VI sent a congratulations message to the Moroccan boxer Widad Bertal after winning the world championship title at the Women’s Box Championships 2025 in NIS, Serbia, in the 2025 category.
The king expressed His warmest congratulations to the world champion and found that her performance is based on her endurance and ambition to increase the flag of Morocco on international podium days.
He shared the feelings of joy and pride after her deserved victory and wished her continued success in future competitions.
Bertal, 25, defeated Turkey’s Hatice Akbas, the 2022 World Champion and 2024 Olympic champion, in the final with a score of 5: 2.
“This gold medal is for the first athlete, his majesty king Mohammed VI, the Moroccan people and everyone who supported me,” Bertal told Snrtnews after their victory. The champion, born on August 31, 1999, added: “This is just the beginning of my career and I will realize more dreams.”
