Chileeee! If “Give Credit Where It’s Due” had a face, this definitely would be one Katt Williams. The comedian kicked off 2024 with some viral comments, and now he’s wrapping it up the same way, claiming that he’s basically the reason why Steph Curry became the NBA’s best shooter.

Is Katt Williams taking note of Steph Curry’s hooping skills?
Katt Williams’ social media is once again in turmoil after a video from a podcast at the 2024 Vulture Festival in November resurfaced. In the clip, Katt claims he was the one who told Steph Curry to start shooting deep 3-pointers before he even came to the NBA.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t claim what I do. That’s not part of it. It’s about doing what it is and letting it be. But I am, without question, responsible for the greatest shooter in the NBA!” Katt said during the podcast interview.
The Friday After Next star posted a 30-second story at Vulture Fest to support his claim. Katt said he met Steph Curry before the NBA when he hired him for a celebrity basketball game that benefited the children and families of Los Angeles. He explained that he convinced Curry to join the team and even gave him $5,000 to play with. No one knew who Curry was back then, but as soon as he stepped onto the court, he started shooting from somewhere over half the court to the 3-point line.
“Next year, next game, he’ll score 50 points.” I’m saying, dude, you’re out here making $5,000 for a celebrity basketball game, but you’re one of the best shooters ever. “Do you understand that when you take your game to the NBA, they either have to change something or you become the best shooter of all time,” Katt continued.
Katt continued, saying he told Curry that he would be “the best shooter ever” if he could shoot before defenders could even react.
“I’m not saying he took that advice and then moved on, but he took my advice and then moved on.” Williams joked.
So far, Steph hasn’t said anything about Katt’s attitude toward his career.
