Katie Maloney’s father is dead: Read her statement
Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney mourns the death of her father, Rich Maloney.
“Last Sunday my dad died,” Katie, 37, wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 10th. “Since then I have encountered a variety of emotions, numbness, peace, complete sadness in the udder and sometimes even guilt. My dad was everyone’s favorite, he was so charming and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. We shared a love of dad jokes and he had an endless supply.”
While paying tribute to her beloved family member, Katie shared photos from recent vacations, including a snowy trip to Salt Lake City, Utah.
“He was always very supportive of my brothers and I growing up, and as an adult he championed our endeavors,” she wrote. “I can’t smell the Irish spring without immediately thinking of him, how the scent almost masked the smell of wheel grease from his work. It is a central memory that I have always kept and that I now hold tighter.”
Shortly after sharing her personal news, the “Disrespectful” podcast host received congratulations from her Bravo family.
“Sending you love ❤️,” The valley‘S Janet Caperna wrote in the comments section. Garden house‘S Amanda Butter added: “I’m so sorry for losing Katie 🤍🤍🤍🤍.”
Earlier this week Katie’s brother said: Rocky MaloneyHe also paid tribute to his father via InstagramShe called him “such an amazing person, father and friend.”
“Dad, I will think of you every day,” he wrote. “I will always be looking at my phone waiting for our daily call to talk sports.”
As the Maloney family continues their grieving process, Katie is focusing on all the positive memories she made with her father without camera crews.
“Dad, I love you forever, thank you for the millions of laughs, for the father-daughter dances throughout life and for the love you have given us,” she said. “I feel like grief is foreign to me. As much as it has touched my life and the lives of so many I love. It’s not something I’m comfortable with or familiar with.”
Katie is an original cast member of Vanderpump Rules and documented her life in West Hollywood for eleven seasons.
Although Bravo announced in November 2024 that the show would rebuild For Season 12, which features a brand new cast, the reality star has her hands full with a variety of projects, including her sandwich shop, Something About Her, with her co-star Ariana Madix.
“It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing,” Katie divided via her Instagram Story after the news was announced. “Thank you for the memories and love over the last 11 years.”
