The actor believes Ryan Reynolds mocked him in Deadpool and Wolverine

Baldoni claims that Reynolds used his creative control in the film to vilify him due to his feud with his wife.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, released in July and also starring Hugh Jackman, Reynolds plays Nicepool, an alternate version of Deadpool.

In the film, Nicepool used lines like “Where in God’s name is the intimacy coordinator?!” and praises Ladypool, played by Lively, for “getting back in shape” after giving birth.

In another instance, when Deadpool pointed out Nicepool’s misogyny, he replied, “It’s fine, I identify as a feminist.”

The lines apparently led fans to believe that the Nicepool character was a dig at Baldoni, especially since the remarks used by the character closely resemble Lively’s allegations in her sexual harassment lawsuit against him.

Baldoni’s letter also calls on the studio to “preserve any documents relating to a deliberate attempt to mock, harass, ridicule, intimidate or bully Baldoni through the character of ‘Nicepool.’

During a Jan. 7 appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Freedman commented on the Nicepool character when he asked why Reynolds would spin his wife’s sexual harassment allegations in a comedic way.

“What Ryan Reynolds appears to have done is use his power and influence… on Deadpool and make fun of Justin Baldoni,” Freedman said, according to The Daily Mail.

On the show, Kelly played a clip of the Nicepool character with a bun that Baldoni had used in the past. Dialogue in the clip apparently referenced the Clouds actor’s affinity for social activism and Lively’s Ladypool character and her pregnancy, prompting Kelly to ask Freedman what he thought.

He said: “I think if your wife is sexually harassed, don’t make fun of Justin Baldoni. They don’t make fun of the situation – they take it very seriously.”

Freedman went on to say that the way Reynolds handled the matter undermines the credibility of his wife’s sexual harassment claim against Baldoni.

“What you don’t do is make fun of the person and make a joke out of it,” Freedman explained, adding that the correct way Reynolds should have handled the situation was ” file complaints with human resources (and) raise the issue and follow legal action procedures.”

He continued: “When someone is sexually harassed, you don’t make fun of it – it’s a serious problem.”

“There’s no question that it has something to do with Justin,” Freedman said of Nicepool’s resemblance to Baldoni. “I mean, anyone who can see that – the topknot, you know, the pregnancy comment – it’s pretty obvious what’s being done.”

Lively filed a 10-count lawsuit against Baldoni, claiming he sexually harassed her on the set of the Colleen Hoover novel adaptation and also launched a “coordinated effort to destroy her reputation.”

Accordingly People magazineThe “Gossip Girl” star claimed that Baldoni “often” called women “sexy” in the workplace and recounted one particular incident where he “pressured” her to take off her coat to reveal her romper, although it was partially open and her bra was visible.

Lively also claimed that Baldoni made inappropriate comments about cast members, entered her trailer while she was undressing and sometimes discussed his past addiction to “pornography.”
