Jennifer Aydin’s Jersey Mike’s MELTDOWN has her husband Bill cooking!
Jennifer Aydin deals with the consequences of her virus Jersey Mike’s Subs video that attracted widespread criticism.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Stern sat down Page six to share her side of the story, admit her regret for her actions and acknowledge the impact they have had on her family and her public image.
Dr. Bill’s advice was ignored
Jennifer revealed that her husband, Dr. Bill AydinHe advised her not to post the video, but she ignored his suggestion. “Bill is not happy about it,” Jennifer admitted, describing her husband as “the least confrontational person.”
Although he witnessed part of the incident, Dr. Bill I felt like there was no reason to share the situation with Jennifer’s Instagram followers. “When I got back to our group everyone was so disgusted by (their) behavior. Jersey Mike’s employees and customers)”, Jennifer called back. She felt justified in her frustration and decided to release the video. She thought, “I’m just going to put it out there so everyone can see her bad behavior.”
However, the decision “backfired”. Jennifer recognized. “Listen to the husband, ladies! Husbands know best,” she joked.
The incident revisited
The drama happened at an airport on New Year’s Day Jersey Mike’s as Jennifer and her family were preparing for an early flight to Aruba. Frustrated by what she called rude behavior from employees and customers, Jennifer began chronicling her experiences, which sparked backlash from both viewers and critics on social media.
Jennifer explained that she waited in line for what felt like an eternity and was upset when another customer who ordered after her received her food first. She directed her frustration at an older employee, commenting on the slow service and her hearing problems.
“I mean, it took the 80-year-old working there almost as much time to cut the bread as it took us to wait in line. Jesus,” she said in the video.
Jennifer admitted adding another sandwich to her order midway through the process, prompting the employee to tell her to “get back in line.” She then turned to the customer behind her, described as a “fucking idiot,” and asked if she could add the item. The man’s dismissive reaction prompted Jennifer to start filming, escalating the situation even further.
The customer, a law professor, is said to have threatened to sue Jennifer if she posted the video online. “My husband is a doctor, okay?” she shot back. “A-hole. And all my stuff is real. I’m a real celebrity, you idiot!”
Jennifer She later admitted her outburst and apologized for pointing out the employee’s age. “I never should have called the woman old or whatever. “I was just sad that she had to work,” she said, adding, “She was so rude afterward. She was like, ‘I’m not giving you your sandwich!'”
Fallout and lessons learned
The controversy led to Jennifer being banned from the “Housewives”-themed “Fans at Sea” cruise, where she was scheduled to join her castmates Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania in September. The cruise line released a statement explaining its decision to “make the cruise enjoyable and welcoming for all guests.”
Jennifer accepted their decision, saying: “Ultimately, I couldn’t expect them to accept a backlash for something I did. If I am one, it’s a very rational, sensible person, okay? I understand it. I did this.”
As Jennifer reflected on the situation, she admitted she underestimated the backlash. “I thought I would put this gentleman’s bad behavior on display and maybe I would get an apology from Jersey Mike for being so damn rude and dismissive. But no, I don’t want that anymore! …I’m sorry about the whole debacle. I really, really, really like this. It wasn’t worth it.”
Go forward
Jennifer now says she’s committed to being more careful about what she shares publicly. “I have to make sure I’m very careful with what I post. This will be a big lesson for me,” she said.
“If I had to do it all over again, I would air my grievances on my podcast or on Yelp,” she added, promising to make her social media presence more positive in the future.
Despite the backlash Jennifer remains committed to learning from this experience and regaining its footing in the public eye.
