Israel proposed an extended ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for the return of about half of the remaining hostages, said Israeli officials on Monday when the military granted new evacuation commands and said “intensive operations” were planned in the south of the enclave.
The latest proposals would be a final agreement on the termination of the Israel Hamas War, which destroyed broad Gaza parts, killed tens of thousands of people and almost the entire population has killed almost the entire population since the beginning of October 2023.
The proposals predict the return of half of the 24 hostages, which are assumed that they are still alive in Gaza, and about half of the 35 that have been accepted, almost 18 months after they have been confiscated by the men armed by Hamas. This new ceasefire would take between 40 and 50 days, said the Israeli officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel would strengthen the pressure on Hamas, but would continue the negotiations “under fire”. The continued military pressure is the best way to secure the return of the hostages, he said.
Netanyahu also repeated the Israeli demand for disarming Hamas, although the Palestinian militant movement has rejected like a “red line” that it will not cross.
The Israeli Prime Minister said that the guides of Hamas are allowed to leave Gaza under a broader settlement that would contain the proposals from US President Donald Trump for the “voluntary emigration” of the Palestinians from the narrow strip.
Evacuation orders

The Israeli military, which has interrupted Gaza Strip, resumed operations on March 18 after a two -month ceasefire, in which 33 Israeli hostages and five Thaille were released for around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and prisoners.
The efforts to switch to a second phase of the ceasefire contract have largely stalled in January with the support of the United States, without the movement to overcome fundamental differences between the two sides about the future of post -war.
Israel said that Hamas’ military and government capacity has to be completely dismantled and says that the group, which Gaza controls since 2007, cannot play a role in the future government of the enclave.
Almost a month after Israel imposed a complete blockage for goods in the Gaza Strip, families said that after the Holy Month of Ramadan, said it was a struggle to find food, in the middle of dwindling care and rising prices.
Hamas says it is ready to step down to enable another Palestinian government to take its place, but has refused to disarm itself and says that she must play a role in the selection of the following government.
