IPL 2025 starts on March 21, BCCI confirms
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 21 and end on May 25. The announcement was made by BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla during an exclusive conversation with Sports Tak. The dates are a slight change from the previously proposed start of March 14th.
IPL starts right after Champions Trophy 2025
The upcoming season of IPL follows immediately afterwards ICC Champions Trophywhich takes place from February 19th to March 9th. The tight scheduling highlights Indian cricket’s busy calendar of back-to-back marquee events.
The IPL 2025 opener will take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and the rest of the schedule is expected to be released soon.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by a new captain, will start the new season as defending champions. KKR won the title last year by defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an exciting final.
