The war also brought terrible violence. Civilians are killed, tortured and exposed to a forced disappearance. Women and girls are exposed to rape and sexual violence that are used as weapons of war, and there are increasing reports of sexual violence against men and boys. Survivors often do not receive the support or care they need.
