Hurzeler is confident Brighton will improve, starting against Arsenal
Fabian Hurzeler will continue to “trust the process” as he looks to end Brighton’s dismal form against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Seagulls have slipped to 10th in the Premier League table after going seven games without a win, with their last win coming at Bournemouth in November.
Hurzeler got off to a bright start after succeeding Roberto Di Zerbi in the Brighton hotseat, but life has become harder for him recently. However, he remains confident that better times are ahead.
He said: “I think you can’t compare the situations in football because they are so different, things happen for different reasons, but in the end you have the experience and that gives you help and guidance on how to behave in these situations .” how to get back to the results.
“We’re just trying to keep doing our work because we believe we’re on the right track, we can beat anyone, we’ve shown in the last few games that despite the bad results we’ve had some really good performances, that’s what I’m saying always.” – Trust the process. We are on the right track.”
“If we don’t play with intensity and courage, we have no chance”

Difficult test against the in-form Arsenal
A home game against an Arsenal side unbeaten since November 6 is probably not the game Hurzeler would have chosen at the start of the new year and the Texas-born coach admits his side will have to be at their best to put the Gunners in trouble.
“(We must) push ourselves to the limit in every phase of the game, continue to play with courage and intensity,” he added.
“We’ve shown that in the last few games and of course the results haven’t been that good, but we’ve performed well and shown that we’re capable of beating any team in this league.
“It is very important that we play with our identity. If we don’t play with intensity, we have no chance. If we don’t play bravely, we have no chance.
“Those two things are the main thing and another part of the game is set pieces. When you see how dangerous they can be in set pieces, we have to take care of that too.”
Welbeck still worries Hurzeler
Brighton will have Adam Webster available again, while young midfielder Jack Hinshelwood may also be back in contention.
However, Hurzeler was less certain about Danny Welbeck’s return date.
“I can’t give a clear timetable as to when he’ll be back – it could be next week, it could be quick, but it could also be two, three, four more weeks – so we really have to take it day by day.” he said.
“He’s pain-free, that’s really good and he’s back on the pitch, but then we have to keep going day by day and hope he’s back soon.”
