On April 15, Doha-Huawei organized the latest edition of its digital Morocco summit together with Gitex Africa 2025. The event gathered over 200 public decision-makers, industry experts and technology leaders under the topic of “Amplify Intelligence: Design of the Future with Digital Morocco 2030”.
The summit Speaking speakers such as Mohammed Drissi Melyani, General Director of the Digital Development Agency, and David Li, General Manager of Huawei Morocco, together with international experts Wilson Xavier from IDC and Hytham Wang von Huawei.
Local leaders enriched the discussions, including Moulay Hfid Zmirli from Wilaya from Marrakech, Mohamed Saad from Casablanca Stock Exchange and Youssef Largou from Powerm.
The committee also contained Ilham Laaziz El Malti from the Ministry of National TrainingNaoual Berbiche from the Ministry of Higher Education, Hatim Bakkali from GBS-GSM Al Maghrib Business Solutions, Hicham Chiguer from AUM and others who shared the perspectives of the AI transformation in various industries.
Intelligent infrastructure for the growth of the digital economy
The summit triggered a material discussion about the establishment of a resilient Moroccan digital ecosystem through public-private synergies.
David Li said: “The construction of new infrastructure is the cornerstone of every ambitious digital transformation. Morocco has an extraordinary potential to establish itself as a regional stroke for intelligent connectivity, cloud computing and applied artificial intelligence.”
In order to satisfy this challenge, Huawei uses the entire range of AI functions: network infrastructure and data centers, proprietary chipsets, cloud platforms, AI models and development environments.

At the core of its growth strategy, the company has put more than 20% of its annual sales in research and development. With over 170 billion US dollars in the past ten years, Huawei has been among the five most important companies in the world in F&E investments.
Huawei’s approach focuses on the support of Moroccan government agencies in the implementation of a national AI platform, the acceleration of the KI introduction in strategic sectors and the establishment of an ICT talent academy to make Morocco a regional hub for digital skills.
“We endeavor to support the Moroccan economic sector in its digital transition by based the latest technologies and a collaborative approach that is based on agility,” said David Li.
“Our specialist knowledge in AI and cloud computing in combination with our local presence illustrates our wish to actively participate in national digital development.”
Smart energy in the heart of the green revolution
The summit also underlined Morocco’s energy transition. Ahmed Rouizem, Technical Director of Smart PV at Huawei Northern Africa, said: “We are about to have a new era in which energy generation with low -carbon energy, network digitization and intelligent consumption become the pillars of cleaner, safer development.”
Huawei presented its digital power solutions, including intelligent string systems, intelligent microgrids and integrated commercial and industrial solutions.
The Huawei Digital Marocco Summit 2025 brought a strong joint conviction that the digital transformation Morocco had to be based on intelligence, inclusion and long -term cooperation.
“The convergence between artificial intelligence, cloud and clean energy is not a distant projection, but a reality that is already underway. We are determined to build a digitally wealthy, energy-resiling and integrative Morocco,” concluded David Li.
This event confirmed the role of Huawei as a technology partner, who had committed to supporting Morocco’s efforts after a strong and sustainable digital transformation.
