Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is aiming to win trophies in the new year after the Gunners beat Ipswich to move into second place in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side have finished second to Manchester City in each of the last two seasons and are now six points behind Liverpool until 2025.
The Gunners are also doing well in the Champions League and are facing a Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle.
“It was a good year. We did well, but that’s not what we want,” Rice said.
“Maybe toward the end (of last season) we felt that pressure.”

“Hopefully the new year brings trophies. To take the next step to become one of the elite. We can keep winning games, but it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win anything.”
Kai Havertz’s goal was enough to beat Ipswich and record their eighth win in 11 games since two defeats in November.
The Gunners have been frustrating in front of goal and Rice says they need favor from other teams to stop Liverpool – who face West Ham on Sunday.
“Great respect for them. “They’re going full throttle,” Rice said.
“They don’t let anyone breathe and we need someone to help us so they can give up some points.
“I think Chelsea were outstanding. They were great the way they played.”
