Hello friends! How is your day going? I hope you have a wonderful morning. How about a small ice cream for breakfast? Okay, stay with me, it’s not as cheeky as it sounds! It is one of my favorite recipes for healthy dessert and you can also enjoy it as a breakfast after training!

I have a super simple and delicious recipe that I can share with you today for delicious homemade protein ice cream!

(I added this batch of peanut butter and pieces of chocolate and it was a DreaaaaaaMmmmm)

Homemade protein ice

We all know that protein is important. It’s not just the most satisfactory MacronutrientProtein is also the building block for our cells. It is important in the fitness/health world because it can help us build up and keep muscle, which is particularly important at the age of crucial. We want to build and protect our muscles to help our bones and also protect our metabolism, since muscles are “hungry” than fat and have a higher energy requirement.

I tend to recommend approximately 1-2 grams of protein per pound of ideal body weight (depending on so many factors as body composition, age, aim, preferred eating strategy, etc.), but I would like to strive for 1 palm size at every meal and every snack.

This protein ice is a creamy and delicious dessert that contains a fantastic portion of protein. It is a great way to give variety to your protein sources and at the same time enjoy a sweet pleasure. Today I share the recipe with you so that you can create it again at home!

Is protein ice cream healthy?

This protein -rich ice recipe is a great healthy pleasure, especially since it includes some healthy fats (made of coconut milk) and add all the coverings, including peanut butter, nuts or fruit. Please note that this should not be a substitute for * real * traditional ice cream if you long for it, but it is also not the “other” art of art that is made from frozen bananas. If you long for Ben and Jerry and try to do this as a replacement, it does not fill the gap for you. 😉 have something of the real deal, enjoy it and continue with your life.

However, if you already had a protein shake and want to add another protein packed option to your day and would like something that tastes like a sweet pleasure, give it a vertebrae! You could eat it every day as part of a balanced plan that includes lean protein, intelligent carbohydrates and healthy fats.

Ingredients

  • Protein powder of choice – whey protein powder and pea protein powder work best. This step is important and make sure that you use a protein powder you love! If you are looking for ideas, try Truvani or now food (use fitnessista for a 20% discount). Choose a protein powder that has a good texture and tastes good – that is crucial. You can use vanilla protein powder or chocolate protein powder, depending on the taste of ice that you want to make.
  • Full fat coconut milk-sie can also use unsweetened almond milk, but the coconut milk will give it the rich taste and the rich texture. If you are not milk -free, you can use absolutely whole milk (which I recommend for taste, texture and nutrients via lean milk).
  • Vanilla extract
  • Sea salt
  • Stevia tastes* (you can also use maple syrup if you don’t like the taste of stevia. I avoid other artificial sugar because the Sugar alcohols annoy my stomach)
  • For chocolate protein ice: 4oz half -sweet chocolate chips

How to make homemade protein ice

Step 1

Make sure the bowl of your ice machine is frozen! If this is not the case, do so the day before creating the ice cream. You can also produce the ice in a loaf pan, but it will have a different texture.

Step 2

In a saucepan on the stove, add milk, chocolate chips, vanilla and sea salt and bring them to cook. When the chocolate chips melt, whisk the protein powder. Immerse yourself in the mixture (let it cool before the tasting) and add every sweetener you want if necessary.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into the ice machine (I love my ninja cream) and switch it on. It takes 20-30 minutes to have a consistency with soft serve. For a firmer ice cream, put the mixture in a loaf pan and freeze for 3-4 hours. (You can also use a mixer or a kitchen machine for the pinch.)

Step 4

Shovel all the portions that you want and want to enjoy! Add one of the coverings or mixes below to adapt your flavors!

Ice cream -topping ideas:

  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract and crushed candy sticks for a vacation enjoyment
  • Top with peanut butter or vertebrae something in the ice machine
  • Add chocolate chips, melt some chocolate chips over it or add a dash of cocoa powder
  • Whisk fruit jam
  • Top with fresh berries
  • Mix some ground espresso beans in the ice machine (and use coffee instead of water!)
  • Add almond train to the vanilla protein ice cream for a nice almond taste and with cut almonds
  • Add unsweetened, sugar -free shredded coconut and pecans
