Rabat – According to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), severe thunderstorms and snowfalls above 1,700 meters are forecast in several provinces of Morocco from Sunday to Monday.
Thunderstorms expected to be 40 to 60 mm (15 to 23 inches) in strength are expected to hit Tangier-Asilah, Larache, Mdiq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Ouezzane, Fahs-Anjra, Chefchaouen, Taounate, Sidi Kacem and Kenitra provinces. from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, in accordance with the DGM’s orange weather warning.
At altitudes above 1,700 meters, snowfall of 15 to 30 cm (6-11 inches) is expected in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Azilal, Ifrane, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou and Al Hoceima on Monday, the DGM added.
