“He didn’t trust me” – Doucore Slams Lampard for the management style while Everton Regent

Abdoulaye Docoure opened up in Everton over his restless time under Frank Lampard and revealed that her relationship recorded a sharp downturn, which led to his exclusion from the first team.

Lampard took over Everton in January 2022 and led the club dramatically with a crucial 3-2 victory with a crucial 3: 2 game in which Doucours was in the starting line-up.

Despite an initially positive relationship, things between the midfielder and his manager were soon determined.

Doucore reflected his experience under Lampard and shared his frustrations about the lack of communication.

He said, “He didn’t speak, there was no communication between me and him,” he said about the overlap. “I trained with the U21 because I was excluded from the team, he pushed me away.

“After a home game we had a big argument between me and him. I was not happy and told him the truth because I am honest and he didn’t like it. The day after they said they couldn’t stay in the team, he didn’t feel respected by me in front of the other players, and they said they had to train with the U-21S or train alone.

“I said, ‘I will train alone’ because I know how to take care of myself. Fortunately, it was not long, two or three days because I think he was released a week later.

During the term of Lampard, which lasted 44 games, Doucore rarely received a starting role. In contrast, he was a key player among managers such as Carlo Ancelotti, Sean Dyche and now David Moyes.

“Frank Lampard is the only manager who didn’t trust me much. I think he made a mistake with me to be honest. I am a hardworking guy and a modest person, I work hard in training. Obviously he can make a choice, I never contest the choice that a manager hits.

“Sometimes you have to be fair and I don’t think he was fair with me and left me on the bench for so many games and didn’t give me my chance, it only angry me with him. I only waited for my chance and he didn’t trust me and I think he made a mistake because I only proved the opposite afterwards. Because after the new manager Sean Dyche had come, I was a more different way in the team.

“It was very difficult because I love Everton, and because of my relationship with him I was almost out of the club. So it was very sad for me, because when they started exploring their options and going to another club – I never wanted it. My belief is very strong, I always believe in hard work, hard work pays off. I was very happy to stay and then signed a new contract. “

Since leaving Everton, Lampard has taken over the manager of Coventry City and improves the results of the team. Doucore believes that his former manager took important lessons from his time in Goodison Park.

“He was a great player, he was a fantastic player, everyone knows that. But as a manager, Everton was a great lesson for him, and I think he learned from it. “
