Hannah Berner broke her silence after receiving backlash for her Blake Lively joke during her Netflix special Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.

“My joke in the Netflix roast was filmed before the lawsuit was announced,” Berner wrote on her Instagram Story on Friday, December 27th. “To be clear: I support Blake xoxo.”

It’s likely that Berner’s joke was about the chatter and not the lawsuit Lively filed earlier this monthclaimed Baldoni caused her “severe emotional distress” and fostered a “hostile work environment” during production. (The legal action was initiated on December 20th and it is unclear when the December 27th Netflix roast was recorded.) “I hope my legal action will help lift the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak out about wrongdoing and protect others who may be targeted,” Lively said in a statement.
