The Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Waters and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, visited on Saturday in the province of Chefchaouen a field dedicated to the monitoring and launch of several agricultural and rural development projects as part of the “green” generation “Strategy”.
In the municipality of Talambote, he was asked about the progress of the solidarity agriculture program within the framework of the regional agricultural plan related to the “green generation” strategy. In this sense, El Bouari has brought to market the plantation works of 500 hectares of carob trees for the benefit of 420 beneficiaries. This project is part of a larger program that will see the plantation of 1,500 hectares over three years at a global cost of more than DH42 million, the ministry said.
In addition, cooperatives have benefited from a distribution of beekeeping equipment and hives for a total amount of 300,000 DH. The minister also informed the rural routes development program for the year 2025 as part of the opening efforts of the villages in rural areas, which includes 60 km of slopes for the benefit of seven rural communities and 25,800 beneficiaries with a budget of 63 million dh .
In Tanaqob Municipality, the Minister inaugurated an Olive Tritation Unit in the municipality, constructed and equipped at a global cost of DH26.5 million on an area of 11,713 m².
In Beni Derkoul, Mr. El Bouari opened another Olive -tritation unit, built and equipped at a cost of 26 million DH on an area of 8,421 m². These infrastructures make it possible to improve the olive sector and offer new economic prospects to the region.
