Hello friends! I hope you have a wonderful morning. Today I share a complete assessment of the new Great Wolf Lodge in Scottsdale! It is a super funny and child -friendly resort that will love the whole family! Let’s take a look at this assessment to see what we thought so that you could see whether it is a vacay that your family want!.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights in the brand new Great Wolf Lodge, which is basically a child’s dream. The girls lost their minds! Over the years I had seen a few posts about the Great Wolf Lodge and was excited to finally take the crew. When I found out this summer that we got one, I booked our rooms on the first day on which they opened the system for reservations. The website crashed several times during the process. I was able to grab a room for the end of the month, which was finally on her big opening weekend. The room prices were pretty fair and I was happy to pay them.

The Great Wolf Lodge is a family -friendly resort with a lodge “campfire”. The two Wolf Mascot, Wiley and Violet and other charactersWalk through the property for photo -ops and you have some fun amenities.
Activities in the Great Wolf Lodge Scottsdale
The amount of activities that you offer on site was quite enthusiastic. They have a mini golf area, a swinging gold, a mine exploration activity, an inner rope course, a mini bowling alley, a rock wall and a complete inner water park. The water park is controlled all year round with 86 degrees and has different slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, a huge spray bath and a baby/toddler area.
In the resort you also have a Build-A-Barr workshop, a children’s area (where you offer childcare), a confectionery shop and magiquest.
Magiquest was one of the biggest hits among the children. It is an indoor schnitzel hunt with magical magic sticks (which you buy for around 20 US dollars). You pay an additional 15 US dollars to take part in the Magiquest game, and if you find different places in the entire property -you are marked with a small green leaf.
It can be something small, as a picture shines on the wall or does something pretty intense, like the huge animatronic dragon that is brought to life. You have to follow a “quest path”, collect different runes and objects and fight different characters on screens throughout the property, and it can become a very involved game. This part was really magical and children ran around everywhere and waved their wands on different objects and then went to the portal to see what they had to do next. It was very Harry Potter.
On Saturday morning, the girls and I went on the street pretty early and made the quick trip to Scottsdale. We checked in at the hotel, where the girls received sweet wolf -ear -pans.
And since our room was not quite finished, we spent an hour in the arcade, which is open around the clock. 🙂 I managed to win stuffed sloths for each of them from one of the claws and they were quite pumped.
We checked into our rooms and went to the day before we went to the water park. We spent a few hours jumping in the waves and playing on the Splash pad, and the girls rode the films until it was after going to bed. The pilot came into the room when we were all crashed and we spent the next few days to switch between the water park and the indoor activities. It was a great family stay and the perfect way to celebrate the end of the aircraft.
The professionals
The activities. I was surprised at how many activities were included with the cost of staying on the property. The water park was included where we spent hours every day, and they also offer a daily schedule with various activities at the hour. This includes character greetings, make -up, stories, a dance party with the wolves, bingo etc. Some of the other activities were an additional purchase, such as bowling, the rope gear, the gold swing, the stone wall, etc. I did not find that the prices for what they offered are inappropriate. You can buy a wolf fun for every child that includes everything, but I was not sure how much we would actually do, so I decided to do it.
The water park. The girls loved the water park and we literally spent hours here every day. There was so much to do for each of them, and I think it’s perfect for babies to teenagers.
The disadvantages
The food. The food was overpriced and terrible. We usually love the hotel Essen – the girls are seriously obsessed with room service – and we can easily find something we all love. That was not the case here. Even if you compare it to Disney Food, it is overpriced, but at least it’s good food and it has a lot of options. I found the options very limited, not very healthy/fresh and overpriced. I will say the fries were great, but they cannot live on fries for 3 days. 😉 (Liv even said the pizza was disgusting, which I have never heard before.)
Here are the saddest tacos that you will ever see in your life. They were called “Fajita Veggie Tacos”, which were on very small tortillas, filled with Pico -Salsa and one or two slices of peppers on every taco.
We are in Arizona. We do Tacos well and that was just a abomination.
The Great Wolf Lodge obviously still worked some of the kinks since it was just opened. It was not unusual to try something (like a sales machine or a beverage machine) to find out that it was broken. We also found the rooms so lala. The duvet was half a customs thick. I have the worst time when I feel that the blanket is just a leaf. So I take towels from the bathroom and cover myself in towels LOL. They also had a smoke detector in the room that flashed a super hell light every 10 seconds. We didn’t sleep well the first night.
What is nearby?
The good news is that Prep & Pastry, Mode Square and more are only 12 minutes away. There are also so many great eating opportunities nearby. It cannot be denied that Scottsdale has a lot of wonderful food. I think it is worth going out of property for real meals and only relying on the Great Wolf Lodge to get fast bites and snacks. (Some of my Recs: Olive & Ivy, real cuisine, flower child for lunch, Blanco Tacos and Butters.)
The Great Wolf Lodge Scottsdale is very cheap near a variety of attractions that make it a perfect starting point for family fun. You can only explore the Desert Ridge Marketplace for shopping and eating for a short trip or watch the underwater world in the Odyysea aquarium. For those who want to enjoy some nature, Pinnacle Peak Park has many breathtaking, scenic hiking trails with breathtaking desert views.

How is the Great Wolf Lodge compared to Disney?
They are completely different animals. (<-Look what I did there?) Disney is such a well-oiled machine and runs smoothly and efficiently, with many magical details. Obviously there have been for a long time and all children's problems were really ironed.
Great Wolf Lodge doesn’t try to be Disney, and what they do is great fun and they do it well. But it’s just not the same experience. I mean, we still had an absolutely wonderful time, but it is not one of the places where we can hardly wait to go again like “Omg.” All in all, I think it was absolutely worth it. I am sure the girls will want to return at some point. I can only recommend it once. It is still a very cool experience.
