Great Britain was outraged after the Israeli authorities had prevented two legislators from entering the country to visit the occupied West Bank. Israel accused the members of the parliament to support Boykotte.
The British Foreign Minister David Lammy said late Saturday that it was “unacceptable, counterproductive and deeply worrying” that two British MPs of the parliament were arrested and the entry into Israel was denied.
“I made it clear to my colleague in the Israeli government that this is not a way to treat British parliamentarians,” he said.
Abtisam Mohamed and Yuan Yang said that they were “amazed at the unprecedented step of the Israeli authorities in order to refuse the entry of British members on our trip to visit the occupied West Bank.”

“It is important that Parliamentarians are able to testify the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory first -hand,” they said, adding that they plan to visit humanitarian aid projects and local communities.
Medical help for the Palestinians, a charity organization that organized the visit, said that the two were questioned in Ben Gurion when they arrived at the International Airport in Ben Gurion before they were denied and deported.
An explanation of the Israeli authorities accused the two legislators of having asked Boykotte of Israel, and said they were not visited as part of an official delegation.
The Israeli law prohibits the occurrence of non-citizens and non-commuters who support the international boycott movement led by Palestinians, which is known as boycott, sale and sanctions or BDS.
Pendants portray BDS as non -violent activism, which is based on a similar campaign against apartheid in South Africa. Israel sees the movement as an attack on his legitimacy and accuses some organizers of anti -Semitism that deny it.
In February, Israel refused to enter two legislators of the European Union and accused one of promoting the country’s boycotte.
