French Prime Minister visits Mayotte after the devastation caused by Cyclone Chido
French Prime Minister François Bayrou arrived in Mayotte on Monday accompanied by a large delegation including Education Minister Elisabeth Borne and Manuel Valls, the new minister for overseas territories. They have promised to bring help to the island and promised “concrete measures.” For Inés Alma, a Mayotte-based journalist, “it is more about actions than words.” Alma added: “Visiting Bayrou for less than 24 hours is not what can change (things).”
