France passes delayed 2026 budget, ending months of parliamentary deadlock

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has survived the latest in a series of no-confidence votes, allowing the full 2026 budget to be passed. The centrist prime minister pushed the bill through parliament without a vote after securing the support of the Socialist Party in exchange for some costly concessions. Also in the segment, US President Donald Trump announced he would cut tariffs on Indian goods after New Delhi committed to halt its purchases of Russian oil.
