The Euromed University of Fès (UEMF), in cooperation with the Hassan II Academy of Science and Techniques, welcomes this Saturday, April 19, 2025, the 2025 edition of Moroccan Day of Mathematics (MDM), organized by Math & Marocco Association.
In fact, this large national event is dedicated to promoting mathematics. The Math & Morocco Association was founded by brilliant young Moroccans, former participants in international math Olympics, a network that extends to four continents today and brings together students, researchers, researchers and specialists from the largest world universities such as, Cornell, Columbia, ENS, Polytechnique, Centrale, Ethz and many others.
This edition, which stands under the topic “Mathematics as a vector for the development of Morocco”, aims to bring mathematics closer to the general public through a rich and appealing program, especially the young college and high school students. The MDM 2025 program thus revolves around four axles. First, Mathsprint, a mathematics competition that is dedicated to the students and students of the middle school. The tests adapted to each academic level take place in two phases: an MCQ phase and an open question phase. Then the program is linked to the “best mathematical video”. This competition aims to encourage the students to explore, understand and popularize mathematical terms through creative videos of 4 minutes.
The participants are invited to explain a clear and original explanation of a mathematical concept of their choice. In addition, there will be interactive stands in which the students encourage playful and educational stands that illustrate various concrete math treatments in our daily life.
This day will also hold a high conference. This will be an opportunity for renowned teachers to intervene and to exchange their knowledge, their journey and perspective by highlighting the basic role of mathematics in all areas of knowledge and those of socio -economic development in Morocco.
