Fall Juice Date – The Fitnessista


I’m meeting up with my internet friends for a little juice date.

Hello friends! How are you doing? I hope you’re having a great week so far! After my trip, I’m back in homeschool and mommy mode, but I’m excited to take a hot yoga class this afternoon.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a juice date, so I’d love to chat about what happened and see what’s happening in your life! So grab your favorite drink and let’s catch up a bit, shall we??

I’d love to hear what you’ve done! Is autumn crazy for you too? What will your children be for Halloween? Any travel plans for the fall or holidays?

I have a trip to LA coming up in a few weeks that I’m looking forward to, and other than that we don’t have any trips planned at the moment. (Side note: We’re hosting a meetup on November 13th, so if you’re near Manhattan Beach and would like to join in, let me know and I’ll send you the details!)

I always want to know when our next trip is – it gives me something to look forward to while I’m hectic, which I’ve heard is a trauma response, but I ignore that – so I’m keeping my fingers crossed we can book a Disney cruise or something fun soon. The girls are begging to go to Korea and Japan, so I think that will be our next big trip after Liv graduates from 8th grade. If you have any recommendations please let me know!! This is completely new territory for me. (And Liv is a little baffled by the fact that we could have lived in Korea for the military many times, but chose other PCS top picks instead.)

For Halloween, Liv is a boxer with her friend (cute gym clothes and boxing gloves) and P is one of those inflatable costumes that look like an alien is carrying you. P turned 10 on Sunday and I can’t believe it!

I’d love to know what you’ve read/watched/enjoyed lately. I LOVE this season of Dancing with the stars And The voice. I’m watching DWTS with the children – they like it too!- and The voice a few times a week while walking on the walking pad. I read Frozen river right now it’s intense and I’m enjoying it so far.

I’d love to hear how you’re doing… how you’re doing Really do. No fluff; the real deal. I would tell you that we are in an interesting season. We are still trying to balance the pilot’s travel schedule with my work life Homeschooling. I also agree that homeschooling is great, but it’s not always easy. I had such nice ideas about all the field trips we would go on and the crafts we would do, but the reality is that by the time we’ve gotten everything done and eaten lunch, I’m lucky enough to have a chore done and a few work tasks done before we have to pick up Liv and head to extracurricular activities/homework/dinner.

I know that eventually we will find our balance. The good news is that she is doing well academically and the pilot helps with homeschool stuff when he is in town. This is when I stack client calls and podcast interviews. It was always meant to be a bridge – not forever, unless that’s what it needed to be – and she started saying she missed her school friends. We’ll see what happens in the end, but we’re taking it day by day.

I just wanted to be honest because online we see a lot of sourdough, farm life, harvesting in the garden, collecting the eggs, milking the cow, a romanticized version of homeschooling, but sometimes it’s not always like that. 😉

I would tell you about the Reimagining Health Summit and how excited I am about it. Conferences like this always light a fire in my soul, but this one was particularly impressive. I’m truly honored to have been chosen to speak with some of my best Integrative Health Practitioner friends (and women I admire so much) on the Health Coach Expert panel, and thanks to your amazing support, I was number 7 out of over 5,000 IHPs in sales in our 100 Day Challenge. (Last year I was #7 too!) I feel the urge to move on to the next step and what to do and am excited to see it unfold. When I Dr. When I first interviewed Cabral for my podcast years ago, I knew he was doing something truly amazing and I’m beyond thrilled to be a small part of it EquiLife And IHPs.

I would also ask you for your opinion on peptides, especially GLP-1/GIP. I know this can be an intense topic, but I’m always curious to know what my friends think about anything in the health/wellness space. I’ve always loved certain peptides and their abilities – like collagen peptides OneSkin products I use glutathione and NAD+ every day – but was a clear no to GLP-1 for a long time. I learned more and changed my mind, especially about microdosing.

To my knowledge, there are no large studies on microdosing; GLP-1 has been around for a long time, but studies have been based on larger, therapeutic doses. A number of health experts I trust have spoken about the longevity benefits of microdosing.

If I end up trying it, I’ll definitely report back because I’ve heard it can have a positive effect on blood sugar response, inflammation (I’m feeling particularly inflamed right now), and perimenopause. I don’t think you should rely on these things – and that you should test to see what underlying imbalances are occurring – but it can potentially be a helpful lever if you feel stuck.

I’d check to see if you’ve tried any good recipes lately and what you’re making for dinner tonight. I made this beef bowl for the first time about a month ago, and the girls ask for it quite often. It’s SO good and satisfying! I also started adding artichokes. The sauce and beef and vegetable mixture are incredible.
