Facial recognition AI is flawed and racially biased. The police continue to use it anyway.
British police have been experimenting with using facial recognition technology on live surveillance video in public areas, as seen in this photo. Police departments in the US are also using the technology, despite evidence that these systems are racially biased and unreliable, leading to wrongful arrests in some cases.
