Amazon held his First big product event of the year on Wednesday and ,, As expectedIt went largely (okay, quite, quite) to Alexa. The company announced its next generation for the first time AI-operated voice assistant Back in 2023, but Technical problems Forced Amazon to delay its formal unveiling and rollout. Panos Panay and his Amazon device and service team were at the event to show Alexa+.
Here is an overview of everything Amazon has announced when it has announced in his first product event of 2025:
Alexa+
After loose (and much) boring stripes about generative AI by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy at the event on Wednesday, Panay took the microphone to share the actual news. Alexa+ is the name of the company’s improved voice assistant. The company will do it next month, starting with Echo show devices. Alexa+ costs 20 US dollars a month, but Prime members receive access without additional costs. Prime currently costs 15 US dollars a month, so we have to ask ourselves whether there is a price increase.
Alexa+ is more conversal and useful for compatible devices. It can remember their preferences, e.g. B. the types of food they like and do not like, and they facts them in their recipe inquiries. Alexa+ can recognize her tone and mood. In a live demo it seemed to try to stay calm during its presentation.
Panay claimed that, among other things, Smart -Home management "has turned with Alexa+." You can use the voice assistant, for example to move music from an echo device to another spokesman or television or to jump into a certain scene in a film that is on Prime video.
Amazon claims that the updated voice assistant can answer questions about film material that can answer with ring cameras, photos with an echo show, emails, files such as PDFs, handwritten notes, your calendar, upcoming sports games and much more. Alexa+ can serve a service called Suno (what Record labels have sued To scratch your music to train your AI modes) to generate custom songs during the running.
Similar to Openai has for ChatgptAmazon has teamed up with a number of news organizations to answer questions about a variety of topics with current information. Other partners are Uber to order trips that can be opened to book a restaurant reserve, Spotify, Sonos, Samsung, Xbox, Tidal, Dyson, Nasa and "Tens of thousands" more. There is Amazon Fresh integration for food orders and you can see what is in your cart on your screen.
Elsewhere, Alexa+ has some functions that are apparently child -friendly. The voice assistant can use Genai to tell children tailor -made stories based on what they want to hear. It can also answer questions that you have (hopefully without these false or false results, the one that Late Alexa+).
Panay led to the announcement and demos by finding that Alexa, what it looks like, can be frustrating, but Genai can help to alleviate these nuisance. He added that a KI chatbot for Amazon’s vision is not sufficient for Alexa and that people have something easy to use "Actually take measures." With Alexa+Panay claimed that the "Intimidation factor" from Genai is no longer. Secure!
Alexa.com and new telephone apps
There are other ways to access Alexa+ except on an Echo device. Amazon revealed that they are able to do so Use the updated voice assistant via Alexa.comWhat looks very Basically at the time of writing. Seriously, the screenshot above is everything that is on the website that looks like it was beaten up in five minutes. This will certainly change soon, since a demo at the event will be pointed out that you can enter queries. Amazon also revises the Alexa iOS and Android apps to include access to the updated assistant.
New devices
Splitting was crouching on this front. It was generally expected that Amazon would present new hardware that fits Alexa+, such as fresh echo buds, echo speakers, intelligent displays and so on.
But no! The event was about the updated voice assistant who, at least at the beginning, needs a screen such as an Echo show, a smartphone or a computer. According to the company, however, Alexa+ will run on almost every Alexa-compatible device that it has released.
