Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), spoke about her late husband’s life last book and the message He wanted people of all faiths to date him during a wide-ranging conversation on “Hannity” Monday.
“He didn’t just write this book,” Kirk told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “He lived it.”
Charlie Kirk, an outspoken Christian who promoted civil discourse at universities across the country, was “extremely proud” of his latest book, according to the book’s publisher, Winning Team Publishing.
He finished his latest book — “Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life” — in just a month before his murder on September 10th.
His wife of four years explained why the late conservative activist and TPUSA founder urged his followers to honor the Sabbath.
“In this book, Charlie talks about the importance of putting down the phone and connecting with family,” Kirk said. “Pour in. This is your legacy.”

Charlie’s own experience practicing the Sabbath by spending time with his family made him a “next level husband,” Erika shared.
“At first it started with an hour or two,” she described. “But once he fully integrated it into his life, he completely evolved. He became a next level husband, which I didn’t even think was possible because he was already so incredible to me and the babies.”

“Rest your brain“Rest your heart,” Kirk replied. “Rest your soul.” We are not machines. We are human beings, we have souls. We are here to make a difference, and you cannot hear from the Lord if you are constantly inundated with other people trying to divert your attention from your ultimate goal.”

Kirk further argued that there is a difference between busyness and productivity.

“We can get bogged down in to-do lists and think that’s productivity,” she began. “It’s actually not that. Charlie was incredible at time management.”
Charlie’s murder highlighted how “limited” time is on Earth, Erika added, reflecting on how “precious” time is.
“Are you going to spend this time? invest in your family“Invest in the eternal things you’ll have in heaven, or are you going to waste your time getting caught up in internet debates and, you know, going down rabbit holes?” she asked.
As Kirk and Hannity continued to discuss the biblical roots of the Sabbath and even marriage as a covenant, Kirk emphasized that readers of her husband’s book do not have to be Christians to learn something from it.
