Erasmus program, consumer protection, online security: What the EU is doing right
In the middle of winter, things could look bleak for the European Union, with challenges across the board: the threat of a trade war with the US, weakened politicians in Germany and France, looming protests by European farmers against the Mercosur agreement and an uncertain outcome to the conflict in Ukraine, plus budgets and government cuts across the bloc. But despite or perhaps because of these threats, European sentiment is on the rise: 51 percent of Europeans tend to trust the EU, the highest level since 2007; while 44 percent have a positive image of the Union, a number that has remained more or less constant since 2010. These figures come from a recent Eurobarometer survey.
