The electricity generation in Morocco rose in January 2025 after an increase of 9.4% in the previous year by 6.7%. This increase mainly results from an increase of 9.6% of private production and 1.1% of the national office for electricity and drinking water (OneE).
On the other hand, the production of renewable energies fell by 3.5% after an increase of 31.5% in January 2024.
With regard to the external exchange, electricity imports increased by 14.4%, while exports decreased by 43.6%. Electricity consumption recorded strong growth of 16.7%and has reached its highest level for 28 years, in particular thanks to the high demand from sales dealers (+93.9%) and the production sector (+55.3%).
However, consumption on average and the low voltage fell by 66.4% or 58.9%.
