Chemical contamination with cadmium, which exceeds the regulatory threshold values, was demonstrated in the forms of the area of Ghanem-Dar Lhamra Jma under the maritime district of El Jadida according to the state secretariat for maritime fishing after the maritime district of El Jadida.
After this contamination, the area was downgraded from the “A” to “D” category in the health classification of the areas of conchyl production in accordance with DEKET No. 1950-17. Every operating activity is now officially prohibited.
From now on it is forbidden to harvest and market the mussels from this area for human consumption in every form.
In addition, the authorities ask consumers to only make themselves available with conditioned conchyl products that are marked and sold in authorized circuits.
